Polish Shopping Site Fined

UODO, Polish data watchdog has fined a popular shopping site €660,000. This is the third and highest fine up-to-date in Poland following the introduction of GDPR in 2018. The authority motivated their decision stating that the breach experienced by was of “considerable gravity and seriousness” and had a “high risk of negative consequences” for those affected. The data stolen by attackers included names, surnames, phone numbers, emails and addresses; additionally for ca. 35,000 users it was PESEL (personal identification number), ID number, education, marital status and financial information.
