International shipping and mailing services company, used by more than 1.5 million customers (many of Fortune 500, as well as sites such as Etsy and Shopify), has suffered a ransomware attack. Their operations worldwide have been disrupted and their customers have been unable to access even the key services including SendPro Online in the United Kingdom. According to the company, the incident has impacted its mailing system products, Your Account services, the supplies web store, Software and Data Marketplace downloads, along with Presort and some other commerce services, but customer data was left untouched by the attack.
Pitney Bowes is now working on restoring its operations fully. The ransomware strain and the source of infection are unknown at the moment.
