Danish hearing aids manufacturer Demant and all its international branches (including DGS Poland) have been heavily hit by cyber crime. Although the company did not inform about the kind of malware used it was most likely another case of ransomware, as the staff of the Polish branch was cut off from all the internal resources and send home following the attack. In the official press release, the company claims to be in the process of recovery (the attack started on 3 September), and is unable to predict when the business disruption will end and what impact will it have.
Last weekend Wikipedia and World of Warcraft Classic suffered severe Distributed Denial of Service attacks.
According to a report published by Cisco Systems, statistically, companies are attacked more than 8,3 thousand times during their lifetime. Unfortunately, many of these attacks turn out to be successful, although we learn from media sources only about the most spectacular ones.
