Attack on Clinic for Children

After recent attack on Kościerzyna municipality, another ransomware attack has been broadly reported in Poland. This time hackers targeted well-known clinic for children with severe brain damage - Klinika "Budzik" ("Alarm Clock Clinic").

The infection originated from a phishing email informing about unpaid invoice, written in English, but coming from a Spanish address. All of the clinic's files were encrypted and attackers demanded 30 thousand PLN (about 7 thousand EUR) for decryption. The clinic refused to pay and recovered their data from backups.
